The “Musiques Métisses” festival is held in two free-entry, open-air stages (the Mandigue and the Filaos), there are several places to eat such as the Cuisines du Monde and the Saveurs Orientales, … a learning centre where around thirty associations work all year long to promote their actions, their different cultures and their products.
The Musiques Métisses events program has 30% of known musicians and 70% of musicians to be discovered.
Every day there is a paying concert under one of the large marquees and 3 or 4 free concerts on the open-air stages. There are a total of 40 groups which perform.
Musiques Métisses is also:
A musical decentralization demonstrated through:
- concerts organized by the RUR’ART network with agricultural schools from the Poitou-Charentes region
- school events in the communes of the Greater Angoulême District
- events within the communes of the Charente department
Throughout the entire month of May, within both the Quartiers Lumières and the rural communes of the Charente, come take advantage of different musical trainings, unique encounters, original shows produced between professionals from all backgrounds (dance, music, literature, photography …), and the Angoulême public.
Musiques Métisses regularly produces CDs from previous annual events and of new musicians. The festival has also founded its own recording label (Label Bleu) which currently has more than 50 songs and which is considered as a reference in regards to World Music.
