THE NATIONAL COMIC STRIP AND IMAGE CENTRE

Training, research and experimental production in images are an integral part of the research carried out by the CNBDI for the benefit of students, researchers and professionals.

In addition to the organisation of special higher studies programs and the production of animated films and computer generated special effects, the European Media Master of art (EMMA), the digital imaging laboratory at the CNBDI also organises research and technology transfer. In conjunction with XD-Productions, it has built a genuine life-size motion capture tool: the Cyberdôme. Opened on 7th February 2000, this technical platform has been used to develop software for "D character animation and motion capture

he research program of Mélies European Research aims to carry out research on markerless motion capture in the next 3 years. This technology would allow one to carry out real-time dynamic digitisation of movement.’

pecialised in new images, The Multimedia Technical Support Centre is a centre for acquisition, calculation, storage and data retrieval. This high quality technical tool is at the disposal of local enterprises specialising in multimedia production or in using digital images. It is equipped with Silicon Graphics workstations, and a digital calculator.’
