The
CETRAM (Centre Européen de Technologies et de
Recherches en Acoustique et Matériaux - European
Centre for Acoustics and Materials Research),
established in 2001 on the old military site of the
DCN in Ruelle/Touvre in Charente, is a technology exchange
structure specialised in acoustics (transport in particular).
It has high-performance means and technical assistance
at the disposal of businesses:

|
An
acoustics laboratory
consisting of a semi-anechoic room with the particularity
of having a bench with 4 independent rollers and hydrostatic
bearings, coupled reverberation rooms and a multi-station
(10) listening studio dedicated to psychoacoustics and
sound quality.
A
mechanics and climate laboratory
allowing tests of reaction to vibration and/or to acceleration,
behaviour in exaggerated climatic environments (temperature
and humidity aging), as well as a modal analysis station.
A
materials laboratory
enabling tests of reaction to fire, physical-chemical
and acoustic behaviour of materials.
Preparation
boxes of between 72m²
and 168m² equipped with bridges and ready to hire
out.
A
team consisting of the
manager of the centre, a Doctor in mechanics and three
test technicians.
Collaboration
with the Universities of Poitiers, la Rochelle and Haute
Alsace as well as the regional CRITTs.

Because
of its installation on an old military site, it offers
complete confidentiality. In particular, it also offers
complete services (acoustic and endurance) along with
engineering services. Beyond its function as a testing
centre, its objective is also to participate in companies'
research programmes.
