Specialised Poles / Cognac / Le Cognac :
VISITS AND TASTINGS
More than 220 000 people visit the trading houses in Cognac each year, where an unusual reception sometimes awaits them :

Camus, visit of the cellars and possibility of visiting the town by "little train"!
Courvoisier, its new site on the banks of the Charente and its "barrels of perfume"
Hennessy, its quays and crossing the Charente to visit the cellars where the wine is aged.
Martellthe founder's house and the barge.
Otard-Château in cognac and the feudal fortress in which King François 1st
Prince Hubert of Polignac was born, visit of the Charentais Pavillion.
Rémy-Martintour by the "Fine Champagne" train of the 30 hectare property.
Louis Royer, visit to the cellars.

The wine producers also introduce you to the vineyards and the production of Cognac on their properties, for example the Maison de la Grande Champagne in Segonzac, and the
Cognac Steps
.

All these visits underline man's know-how and the quality of the end product; there are obviously “tasting sessions” from time to time.

There are different ways of appreciating a glass of cognac :
either traditionally at the end of a meal, perhaps with a cigar,
or as an aperitif over ice or as a long drink, or mixed as a cocktail with fruits.

A number of festivals help to make these new ways of drinking cognac better known :
The Cognac Festival in July.
les Noctambulations during July and August.
Les Bonnes Chauffes during December.
As well as festivals
such as the Detective Film Festival, Blues Passion, Coup de Chauffe and the European Literary Festival...
