The two main roads, the RN10 and the RN141 make the department a cross-roads for the area.
The majority of traffic is concentrated on the North-South corridor (19 000 vehicles*), and East-West (11 000 vehicles*) * : Average daily traffic 2000 |

The train lines are essentially on the Paris-Bordeaux section, the TGV Atlantic Angoulême train station (15 trains per day in both directions, and once a day in Ruffec).

Several times a day, the TER travels from Angoulême,
• North to Poitiers stopping at Luxé and Ruffec
• West towards Saintes and Royan, stopping at Châteauneuf-sur-Charente, Jarnac-Charente and Cognac,
• East towards Limoges, stopping at Ruelle-sur-Touvre, La Rochefoucauld, Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure and Roumazières-Loubert. |

From April to October, scheduled return flights between Angoulême-Cognac airport and London will operate three times a week.
It is also possible from Paris, with a Public Transport Company, to land at the military airfield in base 106, Chateaubernard near Cognac. The flying time varies between 1h and 1h45. |
